Utility SwopShop Weekly Market Insights Week Ending 7th November

Week ending: 07/11/2025

Gas

UK gas prices fell on Thursday as milder weather reduced power demand. NBP spot dropped 2.2% to 75.60 p/therm, while the Summer 2026 contract declined 0.7% to 75.63 p/therm. High storage—MRS around 80% and LNG terminals near 70%—supported market confidence in supply.

Power

UK spot power fell 4.7% to 83.67 GBP/MWh on Thursday as a slight wind rebound reduced gas-for-power demand, despite higher LDZ consumption in mildly cooler weather. The Summer 2026 contract edged down 0.5% to 71.19 GBP/MWh, tracking weaker gas and carbon markets.
