British gas prices closed higher on Thursday, with the NBP spot up 2.4% at 79.65 p/therm, boosted by stronger demand due to weaker wind generation. The Winter 2025 contract gained 0.8% to 86.05 p/therm amid supply concerns.
On Thursday, UK day-ahead electricity jumped over 10% to 84 GBP/MWh, driven by lower renewable generation. The Winter 2025 forward contract rose by 1.7% to 83.86 GBP/MWh, following gains in gas and carbon prices.
