British day-ahead gas price declined on Thursday, supported by strong injection rates despite ongoing Norwegian maintenance, with NBP spot falling by 4% to 78 p/therm. Further along the curve, the Winter-2025 contract dropped more than 2% to 84.37 p/therm, following the first delivery of Russian LNG from a sanctioned project, which boosted expectations of ample global supply.
The UK day-ahead power price dropped by about 4% to 80.22 GBP/MWh on Thursday, pressured by expectations that Heysham 2-7 (615 MW) would return to operation on Friday.
At the same time, the Winter 2025 power contract fell by about 2% to 81.47 GBP/MWh, influenced by weaker gas prices.
