GAS –UK gas prices moved higher on Thursday. The NBP spot contract climbed by more than 1% to settle at 70.90 p/therm, supported by colder weather and stronger holiday-season demand. Along the forward curve, the Summer-2026 contract gained 0.6% to finish at 64.26 p/therm, underpinned by escalating geopolitical tensions that heightened fears of possible supply disruptions.



POWER-UK spot power prices dropped sharply, falling by 9.2% to settle at 60 GBP/MWh, pressured by stronger wind generation across the UK and a 5% decline in electricity demand. Further out on the curve, the Summer-2026 contract rose by nearly 2% to trade at 68.43 GBP/MWh, following strength in gas markets.
