Gas

The NBP spot contract edged higher to 109.70 p/therm, supported by tighter supply expectations after an extension of maintenance at Norway’s Troll field.

Meanwhile, the Winter 2026 contract slipped by 0.6% to 109.36 p/therm, as optimism over a potential US–Iran peace agreement continued to weigh on forward prices.

Power

UK spot power price dropped by about 2% to 107 GBP/MWh on Thursday, pressured by stronger wind generation and a return of solar output to seasonal norms, while losses were partly limited by unplanned outages at Torness 1 and Hartlepool 1 that reduced nuclear availability to 73% from 91%.

Further out on the curve, the UK Winter 2026 contract eased 1% to 93.16 GBP/MWh, tracking softer gas prices.
