Gas

Above-seasonal temperatures weighed on demand, pushing British near-term gas prices lower on Thursday, with NBP spot trading down 2.3% to 112.40 p/therm.

Further along the curve, the Winter 2026 contract fell by more than 2% to 115.30 p/therm, although prices remained underpinned by ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Power

Weak wind output, forecast to sit around 4GW below seasonal norms, together with softer solar generation pushed the UK spot power price up to 101.53 GBP/MWh on Thursday.

On the forward curve, the UK Winter 2026 contract slipped by 1.4% to 97.34 GBP/MWh, tracking weaker gas market fundamentals.
