Gas

British gas prices retreated from their recent highs on Thursday, as the bullish momentum weakened following Trump’s comments that renewed attacks would be short-lived. The NBP spot contract fell by 2.8% to 175.50 GBp/therm, while the Winter 2026 contract declined by 2.2% to 178.45 p/therm.

Power

British power prices fell on Thursday, with the day-ahead contract dropping by almost 17% to 94.88 £/MWh, pressured by a forecast surge in wind generation for the following day. Further along the curve, the Winter 2026 contract declined by 1.5% to 145.05 £/MWh, tracking weaker gas prices.
