European gas prices rose on Thursday, supported by low inventory levels and growing geopolitical risks in the Middle East. The spot contract gained 2% to 128 p/therm, while the Summer-2026 delivery contract soared by 4.7% to roughly 117 p/therm as LNG demand strengthened ahead of Europe’s storage refill period.



The UK spot power price increased by 2.3% to 119.63 GBP/MWh on Thursday, supported by lower wind generation and cooler temperatures. Along the forward curve, the Summer-2026 contract advanced 2.7% to 94.16 GBP/MWh, tracking stronger gas market performance.
