British gas prices strengthened on Thursday. The NBP spot rose by 0.7% to 82.25 p/therm, supported by forecasts of colder weather. The Summer-26 contract ended around 0.1% higher at 73.92 p/therm, underpinned by strong supply.



On Thursday, the UK day-ahead electricity price rose by 21.6% to 100 GBP/MWh, driven by lower renewable generation. Along the forward curve, the Summer-26 contract increased by about 0.6% to 71 GBP/MWh, following gains in gas prices.
