British gas prices moved higher on Thursday, with the NBP spot rising by over 2% to 80 p/therm as reduced renewable output lifted gas-for-power demand, while Norwegian flows to the UK fell by 4 mcm. Further out on the curve, the Winter 2025 contract increased by 1.5% to 86.15 p/therm, supported by continued concerns over global supply availability.
UK spot power prices edged 0.5% higher on Thursday, settling at 81.70 GBP/MWh, buoyed by a decline in renewable output. On the forward curve, the Winter-25 contract also gained 0.5% to reach 83.40 GBP/MWh, reflecting upward momentum in gas prices
